Last week, SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics was glad to host the 2025 ELIXIR Federated Human Data (FHD) Community Day, as a joint event with the Human Data and Translational Research (HDTR) project meetings (meeting webpage). This event was held as a hybrid meeting, with the F2F component in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Participants engaged in fruitful discussions around topics covering the FHD Community’s status including FEGA nodes updates (e.g. Switzerland) and expansion (e.g. Czech Republic), FEGA metadata model developments, federated learning for sensitive data, and FHD alignment with other EU initiatives.
Separate workshops were also organized in breakout sessions to discuss and report on the HDTR projects progress from the current ELIXIR CoS funding cycle 2024-2026, i.e. FAIR-FEGA, FHDportal, FedA-Crate, Galaxy and FEGA-Connect.
Looking forward to next edition of the FHD Community Day!
